 One of the services of St. Mary & St. Moses Abbey is to provide a quiet place where individuals, families, and church groups can come to be spiritually refreshed through prayer, silence, contemplation and enjoyment of natural beauty. The Abbey's Retreat Center offers overnight accommodations for visitors and those attending retreats. The Retreat Center has a capacity of 150 persons with sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, a kitchen and a dining hall. Rooms are double and quadruple occupancy with private bath.
The facilities of the Retreat Center are open to all and can be reserved by individuals and church groups.
Retreatants are to follow the set prayer schedule provided by the Abbey. Breakfast, lunch and supper are served in St. Pishoy's Dining Hall.
Retreat Opportunities
St. Mary & St. Moses Abbey Retreat Center provides an opportunity for a time of quiet and spiritual reflection. The Retreat Center offers contained retreats. A contained retreat is a group that wants to use the center while putting on its own program. The Retreat Center provides the rooms, beds, meeting rooms and chairs, so that the retreat coordinator can manage the details of the retreat and the meals. Tours of the monastery and grounds are available. The Retreat Center offers the following retreat opportunities:
- Individual/Family Retreats - These self-directed retreats provide the opportunity to experience time alone with God in a prayerful setting.
- Church Group Retreats - By special arrangement, church groups can reserve the Retreat Center facilities for their retreats or workshops.
